EDUCATOR

I am a lifelong learner with a deep passion for education. For the past 20 years, I have been honored to serve in K-12 public education. My roles—as a middle school Language Arts teacher, elementary Media Specialist, and middle and high school Intervention Specialist—have allowed me to support students' social and academic growth. I proudly hold Master’s degrees in Educational Leadership and Library & Information Science, and I hold an Orton-Gilligham certification to teach students with dyslexia. Helping students apply their learning to real-life challenges and triumphs is one of my greatest joys.

Now, as a member of the Gahanna-Jefferson Board of Education, I bring both a teacher’s and a parent’s perspective to the table, working to EDUCATE, EMPOWER, and EQUIP all students for success.

FAMILY

My husband and I are proud to raise our three children in the Gahanna-Jefferson School District. Our family has experienced educational excellence at every level—Preschool, Elementary, Middle, and High School. The teachers, administrators, coaches, music directors, and staff have consistently challenged and supported our children, shaping their educational journeys in meaningful ways. Education has always been a part of my life.

My mother, aunt, and sister are all educators, and their dedication to shaping young minds inspired me from an early age. I always knew I wanted to help people, and that passion led me to a career where I could make a difference in students’ lives every day.

COMMUNITY

In February 2024, I was appointed to the Gahanna-Jefferson School Board. Since then, I have been committed to advancing the district’s strategic vision. My goal is to ignite, enrich, and champion the education of every student through collaboration, transparency, and unwavering dedication.

Beyond my work in education, I have been actively involved in our community for many years. I have served as a Girl Scout troop leader for multiple troops for over 10 years, helping to guide and empower young girls in leadership, service, and personal growth. Additionally, I have been a youth group volunteer leader for four years through Mifflin Presbyterian Church, where I have helped organize and lead a mission trip each summer as well as several weekend volunteer events throughout the year to serve our local community. My family and I have been proud members of Mifflin Presbyterian Church since 2011.

I believe that strong schools and strong communities go hand in hand. By fostering meaningful connections between families, educators, and local organizations, we can create a more supportive and enriching environment for every student.
